NEWLY-CONSTRUCTED BUILDINGS OR CAR PARKS AND PUBLIC THOROUGHFARES MUST HAVE THE MINIMUM STRUCTURE AND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS FOR RECHARGING ELECTRIC VEHICLES, in accordance with Royal Decree nº 1053/2014 of 12 December
Newly-constructed buildings or car parks and public thoroughfares must have the minimum structure and electrical installations for recharging electric vehicles, in accordance with Additional Provision One of Royal Decree nº 1053/2014. It is considered that a building or car park is of new construction when the Building Project is submitted to the competent Public Administration for processing after the entry into force of this Royal Decree.
In collective car parks or garages in condominium properties, a main conduct must be created by community zones (by means of tubes, channels, trays, etc.), to facilitate the creation of derivations to the recharging stations located in the parking places, as described in section 3.2 of the (ITC) BT-52.
In car parks or garages of private fleets, cooperatives or companies, or those of offices, for their own personnel or associates, or municipal vehicle deposits, the necessary installations must be provided for supplying a recharging station for every 40 places, and in permanent public car parks or garages the necessary installations for supplying a recharging station also for every 40 places.
In public thoroughfares, the necessary installations must be provided for supplying the recharging stations located in the places allocated to electric vehicles which are provided for in the supra-municipal or municipal sustainable mobility plans.
Corresponding planning permission. The competent bodies of the Autonomous Communities, in view of objective situations certified by the proprietor by means of a technical report, may modify this term.
Period of completion of the installations in execution phase before the date of entry into force of the Royal Decree: in accordance with its Single Transitional Provision, any installations for recharging electric vehicles which are in the execution phase before the date of entry into force of this Royal Decree have a period of three years from the said date for their completion and commissioning, without being subject to the provisions of the Decree, to which purpose the proprietors or, on their behalf, the installation firms executing the work must submit to the competent Public Administration, within six months of the date of entry into force of the Decree, a list of the installations in this situation. The reference taken to the purposes of certifying the execution is the date of Royal Decree nº 1053/2014 of 12 December passing a new set of Complementary Technical Instructions (ITC) BT 52 “Special-Purpose Installations. Infrastructure for recharging electric vehicles” of the Low-Voltage Electro-Technical Regulations passed by Royal Decree nº 842/2002 of 2 August and modifying other Complementary Technical Instructions.
